ROYALS // LORDE

And we’ll never be royals (royals)
It don’t run in our blood
That kind of luxe just ain’t for us.
We crave a different kind of buzz.

Let me be your ruler (ruler),
You can call me Queen Bee
And baby I’ll rule, I’ll rule, I’ll rule, I’ll rule.
Let me live that fantasy.

Played 519 times.

It’s never too late for the new Fall issue of Vogue + a few favorites :-*

Dinner @ Masa Contemporary Japanese Lounge
Since this was our first time here, I tried to stray away from typical Japanese dinner menu items I’m so used to (sushi, donburi, ramen, etc.). I decided to be more adventurous with my dinner options. That way, I wouldn’t feel that regret of not knowing how something tasted because I chose to eat something I’ve had a million times. Here were my choices!
APPETIZERS: Japanese Assorted Pickles & Raw Oysters w/ soy sauce & green onions
I was pretty close to ordering the takoyaki (fried octopus balls), but I figured since I rarely eat at nice restaurants like this that I should try something new. I impulsively chose the Japanese pickles since I knew that was an item my sisters would never go for. Each pickled vegetable had a different taste (salty, ginger, sour, etc). I liked the last two pickled veggies on the plate, but I wouldn’t order this again. I’m still really glad I tried it!
Also, this is my first time ever having raw oysters! I was a little intimidated because I only eat oysters steamed and I don’t like eating raw meat or seafood, other than the fish in sushi or sliced salmon. I loved these oysters and I really liked it with the soy sauce! I could eat dozens of these!!
ENTREE: Spicy Soba Noodles
I really like soba noodles and this was the only dish with them. These were chilled noodles with a spring salad mix. The sauce wasn’t as spicy as I thought it was going to be, but it was still good. I was so hungry, I ate almost all of the noodles. I think the soba would be good if there was some meat or fish, but that’s just my preference.
This restaurant is kind of like a hidden gem in town because the interior was very beautiful and the food was good. I definitely want to come back here and maybe try some of the different sake. Dinner @ Masa Contemporary Japanese Lounge

Happy Birthday Erwin Schrodinger!!
Currently obsessed with the Futurama episode, “Law and Oracle” (season 6, ep. 16) in which a cartoon Schrodinger made an appearance in a cyber car chase scene. Love it. Wish the future crimes division was real!
